Rev. Barry Giddens was appointed as our pastor in June of 2010. He is a native of Cairo, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BS in Sociology and minor in History. He attended Asbury Seminary where he graduated with his Masters in Divinity. Barry is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. He is in his tenth year of appointive ministry and previously served churches in Waycross and Macon in the South Georgia Conference. He is active in an S3 continuing education small group (Sabbath, Study, Service) along with five fellow Pastors from across the South Georgia Conference.
Barry was married to Erin Cramer, a native of Glennville,Georgia, on July 7, 2007. Barry and Erin have two sons, Maddux, born January 9, 2010 and Paxton, born January 11, 2012. Erin received her BS in Radiology from Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia and her Masters in Public Administration from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. She most recently served as the Director of Radiology at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins, Georgia. Currently, she is enjoying being Maddux's and Paxton's mom.
Barry's passion for ministry centers around Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Barry enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Florida State Seminoles football team. His hobbies include playing golf and snow skiing.
