The Chancel Choir serves faithfully in leading music for Sunday morning worship services. In addition to preparing musical offerings on a weekly basis, the Chancel Choir rehearses and presents an Easter cantata, a patriotic musical worship service, and a Christmas cantata each year. The choir actively participates in revivals, camp meetings, and other events such as the Community Thanksgiving Service, the National Day of Prayer, and the annual dinner theater. The Chancel Choir also shares a music ministry that reaches out to nursing home and assisted living residents and patients at the VA Hospital. The choir has about 30 members on roll at this time.
The Sunday worship services and many special events are shared with those who could not be physically present by the media ministry of radio, audio, and video recordings. Richard Bott, Sound Technician, and Charles James, Videographer, assure that the recordings are available at no charge to anyone who requests a copy.
The Chancel Choir is beginning rehearsals for the 2009 Christmas Cantata, A Time for Joy. Please join us for choir practice each Wednesday evening from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. You don't have to be a member of the Chancel Choir to join us for the cantata. We need lots of prayer and your voice! Any questions? Give Diane a call!
